Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold colored metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height consisting of a disc of irregular outline divided per pairle Argent, Gules and Azure the crest for the National Guard of the State of Oregon Proper. The insignia is manufactured to be worn in pairs.

Symbolism
The setting sun alludes to the Northwest, the station of the 41st Division from which the Brigade descended. The beaver superimposed upon the face of the setting sun alludes to the State of Oregon.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 41st Infantry Division Headquarters on 15 March 1929. It was redesignated for the 41st Infantry Brigade on 12 June 1969. The insignia was redesignated for the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team with the description updated and a symbolism added on 7 February 2008.
